A floor that can do a lot

A garage is considered a load test for all types of floors. A big problem is operating fluids such as oil or fuel that get onto the ground at some point. Puddles of water that arise from water dripping from your vehicle, or moisture creeping up and the associated mold formation can also be a pain. You shouldn't forget the tire tracks either. Add in your temporary handyman moments and we have a list of “garage dangers”.

So what should you expect from a garage floor?

  • Easy maintenance

Concrete only with paint

A popular and common solution is a concrete floor, but it has many disadvantages - it is not resistant to solvents and salts, which cannot be avoided in a garage. The effect of the operating fluids is often not only reflected in their appearance. The concrete begins to crumble, and in addition to various dents and holes, increased dust formation can also be an unpleasant surprise.

The concrete floor can be treated with a coat of paint that makes the surface stronger. It is an inexpensive but very labor-intensive option. Make sure the paint is not too thin; it could crack under the weight of the vehicle. A broom and wiping every now and then is enough for maintenance. Unfortunately, you can't get rid of the engine fluids on such a coat of paint so quickly.

High-quality tiles, yes, but...

A good, but quite costly variant are ceramic stress tiles. Well-laid tiles have many advantages. They are water and chemical resistant and cleaning is a breeze. However, incorrectly laid tiles can turn into a catastrophe. Moisture creeping up can be the cause of mold formation or even dents in the tiles. You will notice the further disadvantage of an incorrectly laid floor as soon as something heavy falls on the floor and a tile bursts.

PVC knows how to help in the garage

PVC tiles are a step further than the ceramic ones and can withstand mechanical stress, chemical substances and surface water. A practical variant is the Terramondi composite tiles. It is easy to maintain and the pre-existing drainage system also helps when moisture creeps up. Mold can be said goodbye for good.

Which Terramondi tiles should you choose?

For a garage, choose Terramondi Mechanic, Light and Invisible. While Terramondi Light and Invisible can withstand higher loads and provide excellent service in private garages, the Mechanic series can also withstand the highest loads cope - it can withstand high point and dynamic loads. This means it can be used in private garages as well as in parking garages.

No matter which series you choose for your garage, you will appreciate the resistance to water and chemicals, but the non-slip surface and noise insulation are certainly also an advantage. Maintenance is very convenient. Operating fluids or wheel stains can easily be wiped away from the tiles. And if something happens to fall onto the floor, the damaged part can be replaced with a new one - thus saving a considerable amount not only for the repairs, but also for an overall renovation of the tiles.

Savee Time, effort and money

Before installing the Terramondi tiles, the surface simply needs to be leveled and swept. Laying is easy. In most cases you don't need glue - the tiles fit together like a puzzle. This saves you a lot of work and money and you can finish laying within an hour. You can also customize the design of the tiles to suit your needs. Is the gray classic too boring for you?
