terramondi PVC tiles

 Water and moisture resistance

terramondi PVC tiles are a popular choice for Industrial floors, Garage floors, Workshop floors, Terrace tiles and outdoor flooring. As the winter season begins, the risk of tiles coming into contact with water, rain or melting snow increases. Therefore, customers often ask us about the resistance of tiles to these conditions. In this article, we will focus on the difference between water resistance and waterproofing. We also describe how the Air Flow system helps protect the terramondi tiles from moisture.

We designed the terramondi PVC tiles to withstand common mechanical stress and various chemical substances. This makes them suitable for use in many environments. As one faces more water and snow during the winter season, it is important to understand how these factors can affect terramondi's PVC tiles and how to ensure their long-term functionality and aesthetics.

Water resistance versus waterproofing

Terramondi tiles are waterproof, meaning they are waterproof. h. they resist water penetration to a certain extent. Water resistance includes the ability of the material to resist water and prevent water from penetrating the surface. On the other hand, Waterproof is an absolute term that refers to the fact that water cannot pass through the material under any circumstances. In practice, this means that terramondi PVC tiles can effectively resist water on their surface, but are not completely impermeable. In certain situations, water can penetrate through the connections between the tiles.

Air Flow System

Despite the high tightness of the terramondi tile connections, water can get under the tiles. This is where theAir Flow System comes into play, which is integrated into the underside of the tiles. The air flow system consists of so-called drainage channels that allow liquids to flow away and support the evaporation and ventilation process. This allows for faster drying under the tiles and minimizes the risk of moisture accumulation and subsequent damage to the floor. All tiles from our range contain this system TM Mechanic.

Maintenance of terramondi PVC tiles in contact with liquids

If large amounts of liquids get onto the surface of terramondi tiles, for example from a spilled drink, a dripping car or melted snow, the liquids can be easily removed. For this purpose, e.g. For example, a floor squeegee or other suitable tools can be used to collect and remove water.

Recommendations for high humidity environments

If the surface is already damp, e.g. B. due to a wet floor or other structural problems, we do not recommend laying terramondi PVC tiles. In such cases, address the source of moisture first and ensure the substrate is dry and stable before laying the tiles.

terramondi PVC tiles offer a durable and practical flooring solution in many environments. Their waterproof properties combined with the innovative air flow system ensure that the tiles effectively protect the floor and remain functional even when they come into contact with water or snow. However, if moisture from the substrate persists, it is important to ensure that this condition is remedied before laying the tiles to avoid possible moisture problems in the future.
