Oliver Söhnel has been in touch with motorsport since his very early childhood. At that time, his father took part in rallies, mountain and circuit races, as well as car slalom events. In his opinion, motorsport back then was a little easier to compete in. Everyone knew each other, people helped each other and were sometimes happy together about the success of a competitor.
He himself experienced these times as a 'screwdriver' a little later. He worked for various long-distance cup teams and was right in the middle of his passion. However, normal life outside of the racetrack became more and more important, so that a motorsport career was out of the question for a variety of reasons. Reason still prevailed. After further training to become a state-certified mechanical engineering technician, the fascination of racing caught up with him again.
In 1998, he spontaneously bought his first racing car, a Fiat Cinquecento Trofeo from the Rally Cup that had just ended. This was completely overhauled by him for use on the circuit, slightly modified and it was ready to start its first GLP event on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. In 2001, after a double program from GLP with the Fiat and Castrol Haugg Cup with an Opel in the 2000 season, he was promoted to the BF Goodrich Endurance Championship with an Opel Astra GSi 16V. Participate in sports driver training. As a result, he continuously trains and updates his track knowledge.

It started with the race on the racetrack to Bilster Berg on October 2nd, 2021, where Oli Söhnel Racing accelerated for the first time with his newly equipped Renault Clio with terramondi badge! We keep our fingers crossed for him for the future and wish him a safe journey!
