Sports flooring for fitness studios, weight rooms and sports halls

Fitness room 2

Sports floors in fitness studios, sports halls and other sports facilities are exposed to daily stress. You have to endure a lot of jumps, steps and ball hits, and sometimes a weight falls down. Which floor covering can withstand it?

Imagine you are the owner of a small fitness studio. Customers are coming in droves because exercise has been very fashionable lately. Still, you don't have the financial resources to pay for expensive technology and a company to install it. Or you may want to set up a modest weight room in your home. Is a heavy-duty carpet, a rubber floor, a standard flooring option enough for you or do you want something special? You can also consider the Fitness floor from Terramondi.

Why is Terramondi useful as a sports floor and what is the difference to the other options?

The PVC tiles Terramondi are used in all kinds of rooms from garages to children's playrooms to sports facilities, weight rooms, sports halls or fitness studios. They are designed to withstand heavy loads because the composite system really holds on. Dumbbells, jumps and active children are no problem. Terramondi sports floors absorb shocks and reduce noise. You can choose the Light version, which is designed for simulators, power towers and all normal operations.

It is equally successful in withstanding sweat and spilled drinks. It is designed for chemical spills. The connections are so tight that only very small amounts of liquid can get between them and, thanks to the AirFlow system, they evaporate very quickly. Any dirt can also simply be wiped off and the surface disinfected from time to time - no chemical burns will occur, which is not the case with wooden board floors, for example.

Many people are under the mistaken opinion that PVC floor coverings are smooth, and a smooth surface in a sports hall is certainly not desirable. However, the Terramondi sports floor has a specially designed anti-slip design. There is therefore no risk of slipping in socks or shoes. You can also walk barefoot, the surface is very pleasant.

So that you don't get the suspicion that we are exaggerating, take a look at the comparison of some parameters for various types of sports surfaces. You can see that Terramondi performs best when it comes to the hardness of the surface, so this floor can handle high loads as well as dropped dumbbells. According to the information in the table below, it can be seen that any equipment can be placed on this floor, the floor will not be broken, the deformation is minimal.

And what does it look like financially?

Where are the weak points ofTerramondi compared to the other options? In addition to the slightly higher price, the disadvantage of PVC tiles is the limited color range. The tiles are produced in more than 10 shades and can be combined in one room, but the production of lines and characters in a sports hall is not possible. However, you can easily delimit individual areas - e.g. yellow tiles under the devices, gray ones in the corridors.

The Terramondi PVC tiles are not among the cheapest, but are very useful as a long-term investment. They last for a really long time, and if a tile breaks, it can easily be replaced individually. This does not require soil specialists, you can do it yourself. The floor is not glued, so e.g. B. only corridors that are subject to the most stress can be renovated. If necessary, the floor of rented rooms can be dismantled and transported away.

You can also save a lot of money on laying, you don't have to be a craftsman to do it yourself. No special support is required, which saves about half the time. Thanks to the simple click system, you don't need any glue. All you need to lay them is a rubber hammer.

The PVC tiles can be installed in any gym, fitness room, sports hall or in your weight room at home. The only exception is outdoor areas where you want to do sports. This type of floor covering is not suitable for this.
